Mecklenburg County GIS has begun the process of scanning and digitally archiving our entire set of full size mylar aerial photography.  The result has been the development of a complete historical map archival.  Further enhancements to the archival have resulted from a partnership between Mecklenburg County GIS and the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County's Carolina Room. 

County Mapping/GIS is supplying the equipment and labor to scan maps of local and regional historic value. We welcome input and participation from citizens who have an interest in the history of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area.
