BFFCC's Summer Enrichment Program
The Beatties Ford Rd. Family Counseling Center's Summer Enrichment Program is a place where children ages 7-16 can express themselves and receive positive feedback to use the skills and energy they possess in a positive manner while having fun. The weekly schedule will include but is not limited to the following topic discussions and activities including: daily devotional, arts & crafts, exercise (basketball, volleyball, softball, etc), pre- vocational training (sewing, auto repair, computer technology) and graphic arts & graphic design.
MCPR Therapeutic Recreation Division - Teen Summer Camp Programs
The Therapeutic Recreation Division of Park and Recreation will be hosing 13 different Teen Summer Camps hosted through out Mecklenburg County and running June 23rd - August 15, 2008.
MeckTeens March Programs
MeckTeens offers programs for youth and teens from all backgrounds, races, and areas of Mecklenburg County. Recreational activities integrate team-building, leadership, communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and social skills.
Nursing Program - Free Tuition
University of the District of Columbia (UDC) is offering FREE tuition, FREE books, a $250 monthly stipend, and guaranteed job placement as a nurse at Providence Hospital upon graduation (it's a 3 year program) with a starting salary of $40,000. Partners in Out-of-School Time of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County (POST)
POST is employing four (4) basic goals in working towards its mission to ensure that all school-age children and youth in Mecklenburg County have access to high-quality programs, activities, and opportunities when school is closed. For each goal there is a lengthy list of supporting objectives and strategies.
Spring Break Camp at West Charlotte Recreation Center
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers Spring Break Camp 2008, April 7-11 at West Charlotte Recreation Center, 2401 Kendall Dr. This camp for youth, ages 10-15, runs each day 8:30am-5:30pm. The camp includes an array of activities such as bowling, teambuilding, a college tour, skating, talent show, and curriculum-based activities. The fee for this camp is $30 for the whole week, including all trips and admissions. The camp is provided during spring break for students in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Participants will bring their own lunch daily. Registration is limited and offered first come/first served. You may register online at Eparks or by calling 311. 2008 Financial Futures/UNC Kenan-Flagler Youth Institute
The Financial Futures Summer Program, organized and administered by the Financial Futures Foundation in conjunction with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is a 10-day program (June 16-27, 2008) established for the purpose of identifying, nurturing and motivating minority or female students who may have career interests in the field of financial services or business. The program runs from June 16-27, 2008, with full-day schedules of planned activities. Classes will be held on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill at the Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Youth Spring Break Camp at Albermarle Road Recreation Center
This is a one week experience structured for youth 7-12 years old. Youth that register for this phenomenal experience will explore educational and recreational activities. Highlights of the week include trips to Laser Quest, Local Parks and Zuma Fun Center.

The Girl talk "Loving My Body" fitness camp is a one-week summer camp that focuses on building positive body image and self-esteem for girls through physical fitness, including dance, yoga, and the arts. The goal is to empower girls to make healthy choices for their bodies.
Summer Business Enrichment Camp
Our Summer Business Enrichment Camp is a comprehensive entrepreneurial initiative created to expose rising 6th-9th graders to key principles of business ownership. Statewide Youth Leadership Forum
Up to 40 youth and young adult delegates (ages 16-28) with disabilities will be selected to attend. Throughout the Forum, delegates will meet in small teams based on regional location. Each group will develop a local project to work on when they return to their local communities.
