WOMEN'S COMMISSION - HISTORY

The formation of the Women's Commission grew out of a proposal prepared by the Charlotte Women's Political Caucus and endorsed by numerous other women's organizations.

In 1974, the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners established a community advisory board to provide information and to make recommendations on the status of women in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

Women's Commission - Quick Facts
